“In this day and age, it’s hard to find a dedicated commitment to work hard to help others without money controlling that care that it is given. It is an honor to know that Commander Kennedy has the personality to deal with injured animals as he does compassionately. He has a born sense of Team Work in his leadership, and that shows by the gage of respect the team members give Commander Kennedy who always looks out constantly for their well being as he does for the patient who is just an injured horse wrapped in barbed wire. Keep up the good work!”

Dear Mrs.Herring and Congressman Ross,
First let me introduce myself. I am Jordan Holcomb, the 15 year old female that Mr. Kennedy was talking to you about.
I live in Mt.Enterprise, Texas with my legal guardian, my grandmother, Mrs. Holcomb who is a new member of the organization of Healing Spirits Ranch and Rescue, Inc with Headquarters in Hope, Arkansas. I am a Sophmore at Mt.Enterprise High School. I am active in extracurricular activities such as: I will be a 3rd year twirler this fall, 5 years in band, varsity basketball team, and track team. In all my years of participating in the different sports, I have learned that not all children can perform at the same level. This has brought to my attention that there needs to be more programs for the less capable.
I had a long talk with Mr. Kennedy and the conversation really peaked my interest and motivated me to do all I can to help get this program started. I am very excited to possibly have the opportunity to work with the handicapped children, and to be able to help them learn they can excel in many areas of their lives.
I wish to work with handicapped children because it is amazing to see the smile and look of satisfaction when they accomplish a task; I have interest and concern for these children, and I believe that along with my prayers for this program it will help these children and make them feel happy and important as well as to make this program asuccess.
UPDATE: On June 26, 2010, I and others of Healing Spirits were called to the alarm of my Grandmother's aid. She called me when I was with my ex stepfather, and said she wasn't feeling well, so I went home, to find out she was having symptoms of a heart issue, so I immediately contacted Mr. Kennedy and he walked me through the right procedures to render aid to her, as he notified the State Police, who dispatched the EMS. Within less than 10 minutes Mr. Kennedy managed to send the EMT who shared his concerns for my grandmother, then transported her with me to ETMC Henderson.
I was amazed how fast and how quick Mr. Kennedy and our crews worked so well with all the agencies, including the nurses at the hospital, and made me feel like a team player as well as keep me informed of my grandmother’s health status the whole time. It is amazing how things like this can end up so well rehearsed that normal stress from this type of operation seems to go away quickly when you see and know she is in the best care for her COPD condition under their care. The learning experience showed me how effective Mr. Kennedy can find someone, and render aid quickly by directing the EMT and the State Police within the area we are in without (he was 87 miles away when I called him) being here. Learning how he does it is definitely sparking my interest in learning so much from the group as well. Their constant communication with me on my cell phone kept me from missing information that could have had me worry, but they calmly kept me informed, and that too helped my grandmother from worrying so much as well, which could have made her condition worse.
Now you know why this organization and those like them deserves highest attention and support when it comes to saving lives in a disaster such as a hurricane, flood, or whatever happens, and why my grandmother and I are so proud to be involved with those who treat us like family should. They treat us like family all the time, and share tactics that really make us feel at ease with the situation. Even the hospital staff showed interest in them because of the follow up methods they have.
So please pay very close attention to their way of helping those who need help when that emergency does arise, because I feel everyone can learn how to take precautions and save lives, animal or human. Your support and efforts to help us all teach others these valuable tactics will no doubt save lives daily, and deserve that support fully.
I do hope to meet you and the Congressman someday so you can have my hand in yours with a bond of appreciation and respect to your efforts and support..
Yours with great respect,
Jordan Bayley Holcomb
